Paying never helps you win
- Ranked, the practice tools and replay analysis are free for everyone.
- Rank marks, such as gold, the crown, medals and the lava glow, can only be earned. A shop item never looks like competitive status.
- Bought cosmetics never appear on leaderboard rows, only on profiles and hover cards.
The tiers
Each tier includes everything in the tier below it.
| Tier | A month | Adds |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | $2.49 | A supporter badge on your name; an anonymous profile during matches; up to 5 highlighted achievements on your profile; choosing both the seed type and the bastion type in private rooms |
| Tier 2 | $4.99 | A custom name for your private rooms; room replays saved for up to 2 players |
| Tier 3 | $7.99 | An animated name colour; a "request to join" mode for your rooms; room replays saved for up to 4 players |
Tiers are sold on the Shop page.
Buying on the website
- No sign-in: type the Minecraft username of the player the tier is for, and choose whether it's a gift.
- Before you pay, the website shows that player's head, name and profile so you can check it's the right person.
- Payment goes through Tebex, which tells Splitstone's service to add the tier to that Minecraft account.
- A gifted tier lasts a month and then renews automatically, charged to the giver, until the giver cancels. The player receiving it is told that it renews.
- From 16 you can buy for yourself; younger players get a tier when a parent buys it.
Cosmetics
- Cosmetics and coins are sold in the game's own shop, where you can try items on your 3D model first. The website sells only the tiers.
- Kinds of cosmetic: outfits, hats and worn models, particles and trails, emotes, titles, banners, name colours, badges and match-win effects. No capes.
- Outfits are drawn over your own skin and never change your Minecraft skin.
- Your equipped set shows everywhere: matches, ranked included, replays and profiles. You can hide other players' cosmetics in settings. Your own speedrun.com instance shows none.
- The shop rotates: items are on sale in limited windows. Some return, some never do, and bundles cost fewer coins.
- Coins have no real-world value and can't be cashed out or transferred.
- Community creators make cosmetics alongside Splitstone, for a share of sales.
Earned items
- Some cosmetics can only be earned: through the battle pass, playtime and levels, being a beta player, achievements and wins. Earned items are yours for good.
- At launch the whole battle pass is free for everyone. Each pass follows a season, and rewards not reached by its end are lost.
- You can gift many bought items, and the person receiving one can accept or decline it. Earned items can't be gifted.
