Rules

Race fairly and be good to each other. These are the rules every player agrees to.

Draft. Splitstone has not launched, so this is not in force yet. It is the version players will be asked to agree to on first launch, and it may change before then.

13 or olderEveryone who plays is at least 13.
Play fairOnly speedrun.com-legal mods and tools.
Respect peopleNo harassment, hate or sharing personal info.
A person reviews appealsEvery appeal is read by a human.

Splitstone is for racing fairly and having a good time together. By playing, you agree to these rules. Breaking them can lead to a warning, a chat mute, a temporary ban or a permanent ban. Chat abuse and cheating are punished separately, and repeat offences are punished harder.

01Who can play

  • You must be 13 or older.
  • You may play on more than one Minecraft account, but never to get around a ban, to raise or lower anyone's Elo, or to play against yourself.

02Play fair

  • Use only mods on the speedrun.com legal mods list. Splitstone checks your mods when you play and refuses any that are not on it. Do not install Fabric API.
  • Use only the external tools speedrun.com allows, such as its approved calculators.
  • No cheating of any kind: no modified clients or files, no X-ray or seeing hidden information, and no macros or key bindings speedrun.com does not allow.
  • No arranging results: no trading wins, losing on purpose, or helping someone else's Elo.
  • Do not exploit Splitstone's own bugs to win. Report them instead.
  • Play your matches. A player who is away for 5 minutes forfeits automatically, and leaving matches repeatedly is penalised.

03Respect other players

  • No harassment, threats, hate speech or slurs.
  • No sexual content. Many players are young.
  • Do not share anyone's personal information, including your own.
  • Do not pretend to be someone else, including Splitstone staff.
  • No spam, scams or advertising.

The chat filter for swearing and slurs is on by default. You can turn it off for yourself, but these rules still apply.

04Purchases

  • Coins have no real-world value. They cannot be cashed out, sold or transferred.
  • Purchases are made through Tebex. You must be 16 or older to buy; younger players can receive items bought by a parent.
  • Cosmetics never give a competitive advantage.

05Reports, sanctions and appeals

  • Report players in game, from a profile, a chat message or a match.
  • The founders moderate, helped by an automated tool that acts on its own only in clear cases. Every sanction notice says whether automated tools were used.
  • A ban applies to the Minecraft account it was given to.
  • You can appeal in game or through the website. A person reviews every appeal.

06Changes

When these rules change, the game asks you to read them and agree again before you keep playing.
